BUILDING AN ECOSYSTEM OF EDUCATION

Ryan, Martin, and Shamik--roommates at CU Denver--founded Ecosystem Arts after noticing the need to prevent educational delays in pediatric patients. The organization has grown into a multidisciplinary program with engineers from CU Boulder developing novel carts like the one above, and teachers and volunteers developing curricula to supplement them.

Our Mission
Ecosystem Arts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Colorado determined to expanding the educational opportunities available to patients at children's hospital. adolescent patients at hospitals often lack access to enriching and engaging stem education programs due to tiring treatment regiments. our goal is to bridge this divide and bring engaging and educational content to patients that are unable to follow a traditional educational path by developing a sustainable curriculum with hospital staff, university students, educators, industry and most importantly, kids!

Ecosystem Arts is the first organization of its kind to organize a large group of engineers, K-12 schools, universities, and local hospitals to create a sustainable and expandable educational program.

“We at Children’s Hospital Colorado greatly appreciate the contributions of the students in their desire to brighten the hospital experience for the special patients that we serve by designing a toy that is safe, engaging, and transportable. By giving so generously of their time and talents, the patient experience is certain to be enhanced.”
Kathleen McBride (Director of Volunteer Services,  Children's Hospital Colorado)
